Fitness for Health’s sport-specific conditioning program entails a variety of cardiovascular, strength, flexibility, and aerobic fitness techniques in order to maximize your sports performance and minimize risk of injury. Fitness for Health’s trainers work with athletes of all ages, engaged in sports ranging from tennis to football to ice hockey, basketball and baseball.
The program is carefully tailored by our certified athletic trainers to obtain optimum potential based upon your strengths, weaknesses, goals, and demands of the sport. Prior to program commencement, you will receive a complete fitness evaluation and profile, including VO2 Max testing. Special sport-specific drills are incorporated into the program to enhance those muscle groups that are involved in specific movements related to your sport. You are carefully monitored during the program with special assessment of changes in your heart rate and your ability to perform increasingly difficult drills. Depending upon your athletic needs, the program includes agility drills, plyometrics (specialized exercises to increase power and speed), interval training, strength training, speed training, and rehabilitation exercises. Participants have shown tremendous improvement in their performance and have noticed marked increases in their muscular endurance, strength, flexibility, speed, and power.
